I remember the first day our Emporium pastry chef, Tina Haldeman, asked me to taste her latest creation, the Sticky Bunssant. I was blown away! Crispy yet tender, sweet and sticky, and oh so many pecans! We decided then and there that Savannah deserved to experience such lusciousness.
What is a Sticky Bunssant, you ask? It’s an idea that first hatched in chef Tina’s mind while she was in Seoul, South Korea preparing the desserts for the U.S. Winter Olympics. It’s a hybrid pastry, a sticky bun made with croissant dough. The result is the most decadent, flaky, crispy version of a sticky bun you’ll ever taste.
It takes time and a lot of love for Tina to make the soon-to-be-famous Sticky Bunssants, so they’re only available on Friday mornings beginning at 7:00.
